Few days back, I visited a store and unfortunately I bought a wrong shade of foundation. Now, the whole situation was flustered, what I should do, should I go with same shade or buy the new one. But I was well aware of this fact that, using the same shade might seem very shabby and on the other hand, fixing the problem might turn out to be very expensive. I discussed my problem with one of my friends and she shared some magical foundation hacks and I am quite sure they will bring ease to every girl’s life.

 Here are some useful tips to make your foundation more perfect and flawless.

How to blend a darker shade:

If you have invested your hard earned money on a wrong shade of foundation and you have purchased a shade darker mistakenly, no worries, what you have to do is, just add few drops of moisturizer or simply mix it with your concealer. It will lighten the color of your foundation and you can fix it with finishing powder. But there is another case too, if your foundation has a way darker shade, and you believe that there is no use of that product. I am sorry; you are wrong! So use your expensive foundation as a bronzer or even it can be utilized as a contour too. Do not waste your money on a contouring pallet or a bronzer; make an effective utilization of the foundation that you purchased haphazardly.

How to blend a lighter shade of foundation:

Now, we talk about, how to overcome the issue of buying a lighter shade foundation. Obviously, when you will use a light shade foundation, your skin tone will look too light or somehow white.  So use the right bronzer or contour on the right areas and shape it well. Last Sunday, I was looking for something extraordinary to wear as I was bored with same tees and old jeans. But unfortunately, I could not find any new dress in my closet. I was in a dilemma, how should I dress up for my friend’s birthday party. Then a magical idea strike to my mind, now you all must be surprised what it was. Few days back, I was watching a video and it was all about how to style your old tees in different ways.  The most interesting fact is that our Bollywood celebrities also style their basic tees in distinctive ways. And no doubt, they look absolutely gorgeous and stylish.

Here are few style tips that will help you to carry an elegant look with a basic tee.

A tee with a fancy skirt:

Basic tees are a must have essential in every women’s wardrobe either it’s black or white. If you do not want to dress up overboard, just put on a basic tee with a plaid or fancy skirt. You can enhance your look with mules and minimal accessories. For a simple day out, you can opt for high ponytails as it is one of the easiest hair styles and you can carry it easily with every dress. Few months back, when I was planning for my wedding, my first priority was to choose the best outfit for the big day. I was giving undivided attention to all the main things, like what should be the color or pattern of the lehenga, the wedding decors and food when suddenly I realized that I was ignoring something very important, some much needed pampering for myself. And this pampering session requires skincare, healthy diet, fitness plan, hair care and a lot more. So here, I am going to discuss about a hair regime that will help you to have great hair on your big day. Your hair will be the centre of attention too as no bridal look is completed without great hair do. So, here we go with some pre wedding hair care measures!

Some common issues regarding hair and their solutions:

To plan your pre – wedding hair care routine, the most important thing is to be well aware of your concerns. Usually, girls face some common issues like hair thinning, hair lose or dandruff. But before that she spoke to Vogue in an exclusive meet up where she talked about her diamond studded sculptural creations which will be presented at Phillips in London for exhibition. Her jewelry collection is a talk of the town right now and is elevating interests from both fashion circles and art collectors.

While talking to Vogue, she said that she had a background as a sculptor and painter and this is what had pursued her to take an imaginative and distinctive approach to designing jewelry.

While talking about her exhibition which will run on 17th September during London Fashion Week, she said that exclusive pieces had been designed for the event. She said that she was focused on dragging high end jewelry in the 21st century. The New Yorker based designer said in the interview that when she works on a jewelry piece she is always thinking that how it will mould to the body. And I guess that is the very reason that her pieces come to life when a woman wears it.

If you are going for some expensive shopping and want to be completely satisfied with it when you wear it on special occasions then always make sure that you hit the dressing room fully prepared. Take the heels, makeup and hair brush and after trying on an outfit, complete it with all accessories so that you can see yourself owing that dress. Buy it when you absolutely love it. It will help you from wasting money on something that you were going to buy impulsively.

Always give thought to wear and care:

Whenever you are going to buy an expensive piece make sure whether it needs dry cleaning, hand wash or machine wash. If you never going to hand wash your stuff like expensive underwear or embellished dresses, you must walk away from that dress right away.

Revisit your closet:

We all tend to buy stuff we do not wear at all or years have passed since we thought one day we would wear that piece. You should always revisit your closet after a year and let it breathe by donating the pieces which you haven’t worn in years. Hands are probably one of the most important and useful part of your body and I think everyone of us ignores it the most and gives more attention and care to face. When I was younger, well when I was in my twenties (alas! Those days are not gonna come back 🙂 Kidding, I love where I am), people used to ask how come your hands are so beautiful and not your face? What do you use on hands but not for the skin. Well that hurts a lot. But anyways, let me share my open secret for those beautiful hands. Although in my twenties, I had a perfectly fair complexion but still my hands did always shine out. Well there is no secret recipe to it. What I simply used to do was to always put on lotion whenever I washed my hands and sometimes, even when I did not wash them, I just always feel the need to put on lotion as I always felt that my hands are drying out. So to keep my hands moisturized, I used lotion regularly.

Well now that I am aging, though I am not that old, just in the beginning of my thirties 😛 I have to take care of them a lot more to make them look beautiful as aging also starts to show on your hands, as it shows on your face. As I have to do a lot of chores on daily basis to keep my routine life go on, so my hands need more attention than ever.

  1. Moisturize:

First of all, make it a habit to moisturize your hands regularly with any lotion. You do not have to spend bucks to buy something very extravagant, just a simple lotion with moisturizing elements will do the job.

  • Do manicure at home:

Well, if you are anything like me and do not want to go to salon every week to spend few hundred bucks, then keep reading. It does not mean that I do not go to salon, I do like to go there once in a while to get my hands manicured but I don’t think it is right to spend your hard earned money every week for getting the services you can easily do at home. This is why, every week I take an hour to manicure my hands. I start by clearing the cutiles, cutting dead skin, soaking them in hot water and then I scrub them and finish by moisturizing with lotion. It is simple, easy and gives the neatness you need for your hands.

  • Use less harsh nail remover:

Try to use less harsh nail removers which are acetone free. A good soft remover keeps the nail shining for good and does not affect nails.

  • Diet:

You diet plays a huge role in keeping your nails shiny and beautiful. Protein and omega 3 are great ingredients to make your body healthy therefore increasing strength and structure of your nails.

Tips:

  1. It is always a good idea to wear gloves whenever you are going to put your nails in water.
  2. Coconut oil is also good for moisturizing the hands.
  3. For restoring the natural looking shine of your nails, when you do not have to necessarily wear a nail polish, do not put on a transparent shiner, rather use buffer to restore natural shine.

My grandma from the beginning used to critique me that my hair are so thin but it never bothered me because eventually it was my hair which were straight, silky and beautiful amongst the sisters. So always try to overcome these “So Called” flaws and embrace them. Own yourself and love yourself no matter what.

Be with positive people:

As company is what matters in the end and define who you are, so surround yourself with positive people. Friends who constantly body shame or comment on skin colors or other body related issues, it is better to take a step back from their company as these people will eventually bring you down. Be with positive people and get positive vibes to be more confident within yourself.

Keep yourself fit:

It is very important to keep yourself fit and active as this adds attractiveness and charm in your personality. It makes you fresh and vibrant. Do not let any Insta Post, movie or magazine to tell you what perfect body is. Just exercise to the amount where you feel comfortable with yourself and are proud of your body.

Every one of us is immensely beautiful in their own way and instead of trying to fit in the parameters which society defines for us, it is better to let yourself decide what you are comfortable with. Carry yourself with grace and people will follow you.
