Always try what you are buying:
If you are going for some expensive shopping and want to be completely satisfied with it when you wear it on special occasions then always make sure that you hit the dressing room fully prepared. Take the heels, makeup and hair brush and after trying on an outfit, complete it with all accessories so that you can see yourself owing that dress. Buy it when you absolutely love it. It will help you from wasting money on something that you were going to buy impulsively.
Always give thought to wear and care:
Whenever you are going to buy an expensive piece make sure whether it needs dry cleaning, hand wash or machine wash. If you never going to hand wash your stuff like expensive underwear or embellished dresses, you must walk away from that dress right away.
Revisit your closet:
We all tend to buy stuff we do not wear at all or years have passed since we thought one day we would wear that piece. You should always revisit your closet after a year and let it breathe by donating the pieces which you haven’t worn in years. Everything in your wardrobe should be separately displayed without clutter to see what you can wear tomorrow!
Never leave house having a rear view angle:
Having a rear view of your dress in a mirror is extremely important. Never leave house without having a look on the back as it matters a lot. Unless you are satisfied with your look for the event, do not leave.
Carry nude heels when you are in doubt:
When you are in doubt that what to carry with your somehow bright or mix colored outfit, it is always a good idea to carry nude heels. As they will match your skin tone and they are usually one of the safest bids when in doubt.
Own leopards:
We all know that leopard prints never go out of style whatever is the season or fashion year you are living in. So it is nice to own one or two good pieces of leopard prints in your wardrobe to style with black pants.
Own some trendy belts:
Belts never go out of style. You can always use them on a dress or a jeans or trousers. They always elevate look of your outfit. So spend some money on collecting a good selection of belts as they will go a long way.
Don’t be afraid of playing bold:
Admire yourself and feel confident in any color you choose to wear for the event. Bold yellows or oranges must be in your closet to showcase the audience that you are not afraid of being bold.
Resist the urge to overspend on Sale:
Do you remember the scene where Rachel tells Ross in Friends to buy a sweater and he says, “Yes, it’s very soft but it is $350” and Rachel says: “it’s down from $700 so practically you are saving $200 or so”. Trust me, never go down that road. If you think something is still pretty expensive after sale, you should simply drop it. You will surely find something you love within your budget.
