Sonakshi was born on 2 June 1987 in Maharashtra, India. She is an Indian actress and rapper. She is daughter of Shatrughan and Poonam who make acting. She has twin brothers, Luv Sinha and Kush Sinha. She graduated in Fashion Design. In 2010, she won the Filmfare award for Best Actress due to her performance in Dabangg. Also, she was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in 2013 through Lootera.
