Culture & Style
Let us be very serious on our discussion today. It’s about culture and style. We need to know culture properly as it takes the pride to introduce ourselves to the other world. Designers and manufacturers produce clothing and accessories in accordance with the culture of a particular region. It becomes the fashion of the region, then. People adopt a trend in clothing only if it is in accordance with the culture of that area. You may hardly find Muslim women clad in miniskirts in Qatar or American women in burqas.
Traditional Indian clothing has come into prominence once again. Well, if you notice the trends in fashion industry, you’ll realize that modern fashion has aped the styling and designing of the bygone eras, the period of royalty, when Maharajas and Ranis used to spend extravagantly on their clothing. Whatever the royals chose to go in for was reminiscent of splendor and luxury. The creative fashion designers of today are in a lookout for ethnic designs that take us close to our cultural roots and remind us of the glorious past. Well, in this section, we will provide you with information on the different kinds of traditional clothing in India, so get ready to take a tour to your glorious past….
The Sari
The sari is the traditional garment of an Indian woman. It is an unstitched piece of cloth, which varies from five to nine yards in length and can be worn in different styles. A sari is worn over a petticoat and blouse. The most popular style of wearing a sari is by tucking one end into the petticoat at the waist while a major portion of it is pleated neatly and tucked in the front. The rest of the sari, which is known as the pallu or pallav is taken over the left shoulder. The pallu is the most fascinating and striking feature of a sari, it is often heavily embellished with woven motifs or embroidery. But now a days young generation is blending the style of wearing a saree with western culture. Look at the pictures and you can guess it clearly.
Salwar Kameez
It is the outfit commonly worn by Indian women and is second in line after the sari. The outfit is probably born out of Islamic influence especially that of Arabic and Persian cultures. Women all over the country prefer this dress mainly because of the comfort and ease of movement that it offers, besides near zero maintenance. A salwar is a pair of loose pyjamas held together with a drawstring around the waist. It also comes in another version – very tight and narrow at the bottom with numerous extra folds gathered at the ankles. This is popularly known as a churidar. In Punjab, the women wear a patiala salwar which falls around the legs in innumerable pleats resembling a dhoti. A kameez is a long shirt, either loose or tight-fitting and comes in a straight or A-line shape. It is slit along the sides to allow freedom of movement. A salwar kameez is incomplete without a dupatta, which is a long piece of cloth to cover the bosom, but mostly used like a scarf.
Ghaghra / Lehenga Choli
A ghagra or a lehenga is a long gathered gypsy skirt with dazzling embroidery or mirror work and comes in vibrant colours. It is worn with a choli, which is a short closely fitted woman’s blouse that shows off the midriff, or a kurti. Some cholis can be fastened at the back by means of narrow strips of cloth or chords. An odhni or a dupatta with intricate designs complements the outfit. Women in Rajasthan and Gujarat don this beautiful and highly sensuous outfit. Dressier versions are teamed with chunky silver jewellery during festivals and other important occasions.
Our culture is full of variety in styling and designs. Our designers blend their uniqueness and charm with our tradition, and it dazzles the beauty of a dress. So please think at least one more time before you click to western applications. Stay cool and always be stylish.

Lets talk about Deepika who do we think a fashion diva and ofcourse she is though some naughty reporter captures some copycat dreeses in somne big shows. But its not her fault. Honestly, it’s high time Deepika fires her stylist Shaleena Nathani, who has been making her wear disastrous clothes one after the other. But for her casual looks I must say she has got a 10/10. I don’t know if it’s her hot body or her dimples, but her casual avatar gets a thumbs up from us. When she first get n onto the screen model Deepika Padukone let her style fall in line with the widely-accepted Bollywood actress stereotype: embellished Indian wear, strong highlights in her hair and dark make-up.In 2011 the star really came into her own and started picking silhouettes and edgy styles that suited her model good looks and poise. Deepika’s style is that of a modern, working woman who is at heart still just a girl. She has a few go-to colors that she loves to use: white, sea green, and tan.
To get Deepika’s fresh white look, stock up on white blouses, camis, and tanks. Pair with an elegant skirt and matching heels, or jeans with a brown belt. Try Calvin Klein and Michael Kors. She’s a big fan of belts and will unfailingly pair her jeans with dark brown belts and her dresses with thin or wide tan belts.
Deepika will often step out with a black or white blazer over a blouse or tank. Look for blazers at large department stores (i.e. Macy’s and Nordstrom) to find a wide selection of materials and cuts. Try three-quarter length blazers for a more casual look. You’ll notice Deepika pairs all of her day looks with a large tan handbag. Tan, beige, taupe, or camel colored purses are excellent for matching with any outfit at all because they are classy and very understated. Good choice, Deepika!
Deepika’s summer style is simple: flirty, girly dresses paired with sandals- either flat or with some heel. She’ll wear floaty dresses with the requisite brown belt. Deepika’s favorite pair of earrings have to be her small, thick metallic hoops; they are a sweet touch and go well with both dressy and casual looks. Finish the look with a few chunky metallic bracelets and bangles. As you can see, Deepika plays it very safe… and so hardly goes wrong.
So Here we are with all about Deepika, but “picture abhi baki hain mere dost” till you don’t try it by yourself. Till then be gorgeous and funky….
Selfies Passion
Today selfies have become an important part of many people’s lives. Especially social networks lovers like to document every moment of their day and which better way than a photo that we can share with our online community?
But selfies can’t be taken just like a simple photos, there’s an art to taking attention taking selfies that your friends can’t avoid to notice.
1- Strike a pose. One of the most important steps required to take a good selfie is capturing a good angle. Turning our head from left to right we can understand which one is our best profile and we can make our features appear less flat. A trick? Holding your camera a little higher than your head will make your eyes appear bigger and your nose won’t appear like a “pig nose”
2-Be simple but original. We don’t want our selfies to look boring, right? so we should share selfies about what represents our daily life, but in an original way. So instead of sharing photos of each of our meals we could focus our attention on our special meal, so if we’re eating something different or we cooked something we’re especially proud of we can share it and everybody will be interested!
3-Full-length selfies. One of the difficult types of selfies to take are the full-length ones; It’s not easy to find the right mirror or to understand in which position our body is better valorized, but this doesn’t mean we should give up on sharing our new outfits or the results of our body workouts.
So these are the tips:
-Focus your selfie on your body and try to reduce the attention that could be given to random objects around you
-Try different position in order to understand how you can make your body appear better, but always try to be natural. Simplicity is always the best!
4-Filters. Today natural selfies are almost extinct because of filters: we can use them to better ourselves in the photo if we’re not happy with how we look but we can also fix the light of photo and many other features so they can be very useful if we don’t end up with making our photo looking visibly photoshopped
5-Watch out for photo-bombers. Even if some of the most funniest selfies include bombers, if we want to take a good a “professional” selfie we should watch out for them. So take a quick look around you in order to be sure that no one and nothing is ready to be an unwanted part of your selfie
6-. Better the back camera! We usually see girls and boys taking selfies with their front camera, but we forget that every mobile phone’s back camera has a higher definition than the front one. So after a little of practice we can try to use the back camera and we’ll have even more cute selfies

We convince ourselves that we don’t have enough time to take care of it and we end up with let it go. But it’s not about time: it’s about willpower. If we find the willpower to give our body the right attentions, we’ll also find the needed time.
So the question now is: HOW? How can we keep our body healthy and attractive?
Let’s see the key steps:
1- Water, water and water. To drink enough is fundamental because it helps keeping our skin hydrated and reducing cellulitis. In general adults should drink between 2.7 and 3.7 liters of liquid everyday including the ones that come from food, so keep an eye on it!
2-Balanced diet. Many people think that having a healthy body is a goal that can be achieved just by not eating… False! There’s nothing more wrong than this! The right thing to do is to have a balanced diet that includes all the elements our body needs like vitamins, proteins, fibers, minerals. Don’t skip meals and eat balanced: you will notice the results
3-Movement. A balance diet can do a lot, but if we match it with a daily work out routine the results will be even more evident. With “work out routine” we don’t mean a professional athlethe’s training program, but some simple exercises that can help your body to stay fit and tonic. Respecting everyday your exercises schedule you’ll understand where you need to work the most and you’ll become stronger and stronger
4-Don’t forget your mind! Sometimes we forget that our mind has effect on our body and it can influence it. It’s not easy to be always relaxed and carefree but if we try not to overload our mind we’ll feel less stressed and in this case some activities can help too such as a relaxing walk or a moment of meditation for the yoga lovers or just doing something that we know that can relax our mind.
